ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ 8 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਨੂੰ ਖੱਤਰੀ ਦੇ 3 ਮੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਕੁਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇਪਾਲ ਭੱਜਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
